Subject: Fantastic sound
Subject: Fantastic sound
This show was my first listen to the band, and I really enjoyed it. They are a group of extremely talented players who certainly do the Dead's music justice. Dare I say they execute it more professionally and with fewer errors than most performance's by the original creators?
I take issue with dherkes previous comment about the "not-too-good" recording. The sound of this matrix is fantastic. The SBD is crisp with all instruments and vocals being well balanced. The AUD could have been a little higher in the mix for my ears (I'm biased as a taper), especially with the Milab mics which are some of the best around. This is an extremely pleasurable listen! Thanks to the band and the recordist!

The Dead live at my house, so I thought I would give these folks a chance. Well, I am happy to report that they are pretty good.
The Dead often started a set out on an off beat, and went where it took them. So does Forgotten Space. Every Dead concert was different - I never heard them play the same song the same way twice. My listening to this recording affirms that Forgotten Space can improvise, and that they regularly practice jamming. Nice touch that - the Dead were masters, and I hope FS continues.
The level of instrumental work is quite high. It should be they have lots of materiel to practice off of. The recording was not-too-good. That is hardly the fault of the band, and I cannot criticise the recording personnel either - I wa snot there. But the show was quite listenable.
Keep up the good work, and Slack on.
Peace
